Project Underway-3

Day 3

 I didn't do anything. I played on the computer for a little. Read a little. And watched a little TV. I was very bored today. The picture is what I made myself for dinner. It wasn't that good. I bought it because of the smiley face potatoes. It's a good thing I wasn't very hungry.

Day 2

I decided to go to the beach and read. I figured I was going to read anyway might as well get some sun doing it. So I headed to the beach. When I got there it was kind of gloomy and windy. I laid my towel out and sat down to read. I just finished my chapter and looked up to see Alice and Chelsey walking over towards me. They invited me to go hang out with them so I did. We got in the water and floated for about an hour just talking. It rained on us a few times. We left the beach about 5. On the way home Brittany called me and invited me over for dinner. So I went home and showered to get all of the salt water off and headed over to Brittany's house. We had pancakes and sausage for dinner. Then we watched a movie. We went out side and sat for about an hour watching her dog play with the frogs. Then we discover the largest spider I have ever seen living in one of the bushes by the side of her house. I tried to take a picture but it was too dark. After that we went back inside because I had the heebie jeebies. We watched the rest of The Devil Wears Prada and then put in another movie. It was almost 1 am by this time so I headed home. I immediately went to bed and fell asleep quickly, where I dreamed all night about that stupid spider.

Project Underway-1

While Chris is gone I decided to do a little project. I am going to document what I did everyday. I will take one picture and blog about each one. Here is my first installment....

Day 1 8/16/10

I didn't sleep. No matter how hard I tried I could not go to sleep so I finally gave up and started reading. I read for a while and watched a little TV and played on Facebook. I eventually got really tired so I went to bed. I still could not sleep. I layed there for about an hour before finally falling asleep around 7am. I slept until noon. I got up and showered and headed out the door. I found the store i was looking for the other store and tried to check it out. The door was locked even though the sign in the window said open. I couldn't see in so I just left. The name of the store was Beadhive. I then headed over to Ben Franklin. I put in an application to work there and spent  about an hour or so looking around. I was looking for Raelyn's name in some sort of letters that could either be hung or set on a shelf that I could mod podge paper to. I found the exact letter i was looking for they were made out of paper mache. Like the ones that Pebbles used to sell. But no big surprise they didn't have all the letters to complete her name in large or small. So I went searching again and found wooden letters, large and small. Again, no luck. They didn't have any of the letters to spell her name. I also found foam letters. They had all the letters except for "y". And they didn't have any paper I wanted to use either so I left with out buying anything. I then went to KFC and ate lunch. Yum! Then headed to K-Mart. I sort of found what I was looking for there. I bought a whit board and markers and a scrapbook magazine. I then went in search of the nail salon Tina told me about. I found one, not sure if it was the one Tina told me about but it was still a nail salon so I went it. it was small. Only two girls working there. They wore yellow scrubs. Jenn did my nails. I got white tips. She did an awesome job! I love them. I got home around 5. Still full from lunch so I didn't bother to eat dinner. I watched The gates and headed off to bed.

Where the Boat Leaves From

Chris' boat was able to dock and stay for a couple days. His boat came in on Friday at 7:00am. He was able to go on liberty at noon. It's been nice to have him home. His boat has to leave on Sunday. He will then be gone until late September early October.

Guam Life

I'm enjoying Guam life. The weather is awesome. It rains a lot but we are in typhoon season so that is to be expected. I am finding lots of new creatures. Geckos, frogs, jelly fish, and sea cucumbers just to name a few. The ocean water is nice. It's warm but not hot. I haven't spent much time at the beach but plan to make more trips soon. I am looking for a job but it's not turning out so good. I gave my name to the man at fleet and family and he is going to call me to set up an appt. with him to see if we can find me a job. I am learning how to drive Chris' truck (it's stick shift). It's frustrating and I don't like it. But I'm starting to get the hang of it. I have taken Chris to work 3 days now. So I'm getting my practice. Chris is leaving on Thursday to go out on the ship. He will be gone approx. 2 months. I'm scared that I will get really lonely. I wish someone could come out and see me while he is gone. The other wives tell me that they will keep me busy and hang out with me to keep me company but I just don't know if it will help much. I'm trying to make friends but it's not easy. None of our stuff is here so that has been hard. Our ship date isn't until Aug 10th and then we have to wait for it to get here. I'm missing my crafting stuff a lot. I think I may take up gardening until our stuff gets here. I have also discovered my love for cooking since I have been here. I haven't gotten too creative because I don't have any of my stuff but what I have been able to do has got me hooked. I discovered my love for baking about 2 years ago but never knew I loved to cook as well. That's all I have for now. I promise to update more often. 

The Adventure Begins

The plane trip was long. We flew from Vegas to San Fransisco which was about an hour flight. We both slept the whole way. We had a layover of about an hour and then off to Hawaii we went. That flight was about 5 hours. We both slept almost the whole time. I was awake for about a half hour and Chris was awake for about an hour. Our layover in Hawaii was 2 hours. We had a nice sit down lunch and looked in some of the stores. It went by pretty fast. The flight from Hawaii to Guam was the longest and hardest. 7 hours. I tried to sleep but I was so uncomfortable. We got our own personal television so we were able to choose what we wanted to watch and we were served 2 meals. Once we landed in Guam it was July 4th at 6pm and I was so ready to be off that stupid plane. Chelsey picked us up and we went back to her house and quickly showered then headed off to Tina's house to try to enjoy what we had left of independence day. I got to meet the crew and we played Cranium and Apples to Apples. I was completely exhausted by the time we went to bed. Which was still kind of early at 11pm. Monday was non eventful but seemed like it was a full day. We went to the exchange and the furniture store. We went to his barics and organized all our stuff and grabbed what he needed from his room. Then we went back to the Carrillo's house hand hung out while we waited for Chelsey to get home. Then the four of us went to dinner and a movie. We went straight to bed after coming home from the movies, it was only 10. I am now waiting for Chris to get off work so we can check on our housing and get me enrolled in DEERS and TRICARE. So far I like Guam. It's very humid. It's not that hot, it's just very sticky. Not too many bugs so far, only annoying nats and flys. I will keep you all posted on my adventures in Guam!
